To evaluate the effect of voltage application on optical thin films, N-on-1 laser damage tests were conducted using TiO2 single-layer coatings. After applying a DC voltage of 1 kV to the samples, the laser-induced damage threshold (LIDT) and damage morphologies were examined. As a result, multiple damage morphologies were observed, and damage sites with small damage marks tended to exhibit an increased LIDT after voltage application. This presentation reports the influence of voltage application on the laser damage characteristics of optical thin films.
