Heating at 160°C in the dark under air of a porous rubrene film deposited by field-induced deposition using an aqueous suspension stabilized with the surfactant SDS resulted not only in reduction from its photo-oxidized state, but also in the formation of a transparent, flat, continuous film. Since the temperature is below the melting point of rubrene, a eutectic phenomenon between the surfactant and rubrene may be involved.
