We demonstrated terahertz synthetic-FM-triplet generation and used it for frequency stabilization to an acetonitrile rotational transition. This approach provided a clean derivative-shaped signal with no influence from the nearby fine-structure transition. Dual-servo locking based on this signal achieved a fractional frequency instability of 1x10-9 at 1 s.
