In this study, we propose a single-frequency method to evaluate paint coatings that uses terahertz waves and eliminates interference effects. In our proposed method, we measure the transmitted intensity using a measurement system and determine the water concentration and film thickness by combining a transfer matrix used in electromagnetic wave analysis with an equation that relates the film thickness decrease with water evaporation. To explore the applicability of the system from the perspective of the allowed error for water concentration and film thickness, we conducted experiments using a glycerol and water mixture as a simple coating film.
