We have measured the spin-orbit torque in a superconducting/ferromagnetic junction using magneto-optics to investigate the magnitude of the spin current generated by the superconductor. While spin currents have been observed in NbN, which is considered to be in a spin singlet state, it remains to be seen whether spin triplet states emerge in materials with strong spin orbit coupling. In this presentation, we will discuss the possibility of generating spin currents from a superconducting W using proximity effect of NbN, taking advantage of the strong spin-orbit interaction of W.
