radiation education
Our laboratory has developed PADC-based materials for radiation education. Previous studies showed that ultraviolet (UV) irradiation and annealing treatments improve the etching characteristics of PADC and significantly reduce the etching time required for radiation visualization. However, for practical educational use, the improved characteristics must be maintained during long-term storage. In this study, the fading properties of UV-irradiated and annealed PADC were investigated. Samples were stored under atmospheric and vacuum conditions, and their etching characteristics were evaluated after storage. The effects of different etchants, NaOH aqueous solution and NaOH/ethanol mixed solution, were also examined. This study aims to clarify the long-term storage stability of surface-treated PADC for radiation education.
