In this study, we present a method for continuously fabricating liquid-metal-based conductive cotton threads using a roll-to-roll (R2R) process. Conductive threads are attracting increasing interest in the field of e-textiles. Among candidate conductive materials, liquid metals are particularly promising for conductive threads because they combine high electrical conductivity with deformability and offer high recyclability. However, a method for the continuous production of such liquid-metal-based conductive cotton threads has not yet been realized. Here, by combining laser sintering of the liquid metal with surface modification of the cotton, we achieve the continuous production of liquid-metal conductive cotton threads via a roll-to-roll process. This approach provides a sustainable and mass-producible manufacturing route for conductive cotton threads, enabling scalable device integration in the field of e-textiles.
