The 0D Cu-based perovskite-like structures have emerged as a green alternative to lead-based halide perovskites (HPs) owing to the incorporation of non-toxic and earth-abundant Cu+ ion at the B site. Herein, the copper-based Cs3Cu2I5 HPs, along with Eu-MOF, have been employed to prepare Cs3Cu2I5 HPs-Eu-MOF hybrid. The PL studies reveal that Cs3Cu2I5 HPs exhibit a broadband self-trapped exciton emission ~445 nm, while Eu-MOF shows characteristic sharp emission corresponding to 4f-4f transitions of Eu3+, observed within the excitation range of 254-340 nm, via the antenna effect. Notably, the hybrid exhibits excitation-dependent emission tunability spanning from blue to whitish to red regions as the excitation wavelength varies from 300 to 393 nm. The hybrid exhibits improved thermal and UV stability, as the Eu-MOF acts as a protective barrier for HPs. Thus, the developed hybrid material was successfully demonstrated for multi-stimuli anti-counterfeiting and latent fingerprint detection.
