Direct intracellular delivery of 200 nm polystyrene beads was achieved using a nanotube injector consisting of an array of metallic nanotubes. To enhance bead transport through the nanotubes, a temperature gradient was applied to induce thermodiffusion based on the Soret effect. The number of delivered beads increased with increasing delivery-solution temperature, reaching approximately 1.5 times that obtained under isothermal conditions. High cell viability above 90% was maintained throughout the experiments.
