In recent years, solar panel fires have become a major social issue. However, since extinguishing a fire while the panels are generating electricity carries a risk of electric shock, firefighting operations must include not only the fire suppression process but also a shading process to halt power generation and a combustion inhibition process to prevent the fire from spreading. In this study, we developed a novel fire extinguishing foam that combines shading performance, fire extinguishing performance, and fire spread prevention effects using the same equipment and materials. Inaddition, we developed a foam that can be sprayed onto the surface of inclined PV panels.
