Anomalous Hall Effect

In recent years, magnetic materials exhibiting a large anomalous Hall effect (AHE) despite a small net magnetization have attracted considerable attention as candidates for magnetic memory applications. Systems showing multi-step changes in the AHE are of particular interest for realizing multilevel data storage. In this study, we focused on the ferrimagnet Fe1/2(Ti,Fe)Se2 and performed single-crystal growth and physical property measurements. We observed an anomalously large AHE exceeding that expected from the measured magnetization. Furthermore, Hall resistivity measurements with varying magnetic-field orientations revealed multi-step changes in the Hall response.
