In greenhouse cultivation, there is a need for non-destructive methods to evaluate plant growth conditions. While a correlation is expected between the plant growth indices NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and LAI (Leaf Area Index), the relationship between the two in greenhouse cultivation environments has not been sufficiently investigated. In this study, NDVI and LAI were calculated using a small spectrometer, and the relationship between the two indices in horizontal and vertical cultivation environments was compared.
