In recent years, there has been a growing demand in industry for high-speed, high-precision 3D shape measurement technologies using light. Dual-comb spectroscopy, an existing method, enables fast and highly accurate distance measurements; however, the high cost and large size of the light sources remain obstacles to its practical application. To address this issue, we fabricated a unique polarization-maintaining (PM) fiber etalon that introduces a slight repetition rate difference by utilizing the birefringence of PM fibers. Here, we report high-density, high-precision 3D shape measurement results obtained via low-coherence dual-comb spectroscopy.
