Dinitrogen pentoxide (N2O5) synthesis using air plasma is expected to be applied to decentralized nitrogen fixation and the regulation of plant functions. However, its generation rate and energy efficiency have remained insufficient. In this study, we introduced a rotating gliding arc into the N2O5 synthesis process and achieved an approximately 40-fold increase in generation rate and an approximately 14-fold improvement in energy efficiency compared with the conventional process reported in 2020. In addition, an N2O5 concentration of approximately 4500 ppm and a purity of approximately 95% were obtained.
