Optically addressable solid-state spin centers, represented by the well-established nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center in diamond, are promising platforms for high-sensitivity magnetic sensing. For practical applications, there is growing interest in cost-effective and compact sensing platforms that operate under ambient conditions. Cerium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG:Ce) exhibits an intrinsic spin-dependent optical response without microwave excitation or offset magnetic fields, making it a promising candidate for compact optical magnetic-field sensing. Here, we investigate the magnetic sensitivities of YAG:Ce.
