Using the pulsed plasma-in-liquid (PPL) method, we synthesised binary noble metal nanoparticles of the Au–Ag, Au–Cu and Ag–Cu systems. XRD measurements suggested the formation of alloy phases in the Au–Cu and Ag–Cu systems. In particular, for the Ag–Cu sample synthesised in EG solution, an FCC phase exhibiting a lattice constant intermediate between those of Ag and Cu was confirmed. In this presentation, we report on the structural evaluation of the resulting particles, including TEM observations and XAFS analysis.
