Transverse thermoelectric conversion is a technique that directly converts a heat flow into an electromotive force generated perpendicular to the temperature gradient. This feature allows thermoelectric modules to be constructed with fewer junctions, reducing efficiency losses in energy conversion. The previously developed conversion-efficiency measurement method was subject to measurement errors caused by stray voltage in the circuit and significant reductions in measured conversion efficiency due to heat losses and contact resistance. In this study, we improved the measurement system for heat input and output power and measured WSi2 single crystals, which are axial-dependent conductive materials.
