To utilize low-temperature waste heat, a semiconductor-sensitized thermal cell (STC) was fabricated using abundant Si as an alternative to Ge, which poses resource risks. A cell was constructed by combining a working electrode, fabricated by printing a Si powder paste, with a ferrocene electrolyte, and its electrochemical characteristics were evaluated under heating at 40 °C. The cell exhibited an open-circuit voltage of 0.049 V and a short-circuit current of 0.31 µA. Furthermore, a continuous discharge for over 25 minutes at 100 nA was achieved, confirming the power generation performance of the Si-paste-based STC.
