To reduce damage to hair and the scalp caused by bleaching, we evaluated the effects of plasma treatment on the decoloration characteristics of hair. After subjecting hair samples to plasma pretreatment, we performed decoloration using a commercially available bleaching agent and compared the changes in L-value and b-value before and after treatment. The results showed that, compared to the untreated group, the plasma-treated group exhibited a significantly greater change in L-value and b-value. These findings suggest that low-temperature atmospheric pressure plasma treatment has the potential to enhance the bleaching effect.
