Extended time-domain reflectometry (ExTDR), which has been used for analyzing carrier dynamics in organic electronic devices, was applied to lithium-ion battery cells to perform time-resolved measurements of transient impedance during the charging process over a broad time range from 10 ns to 100 ms. The results revealed detailed electrochemical processes, including a significant difference in electric double-layer formation times between the cathode and anode. These findings demonstrate that the proposed method is also effective for dynamical analysis of electrochemical reactions.
