The alkyl-substituted DNBDT derivatives developed by our group exhibit exceptionally high charge-carrier mobility. The alkyl chains play a crucial role in inducing herringbone packing structures, which facilitate excellent charge transport. However, heating causes thermal motions in these chains, leading to structural deformation of the aggregates and subsequent degradation of device performance. In this study, to maintain the high charge transport properties of DNBDT while enhancing its structural stability, we have designed and synthesized a novel derivative incorporating phenyl groups.
