[9p-B12-5]Competition between STED and Emission Enhancement in UV-Excited Scintillators

To explore the conditions under which stimulated emission depletion (STED) becomes dominant, we investigated the competition between STED and emission enhancement in UV-excited scintillators. Using Ce:LSO and Tb:LSO, which exhibit different emission lifetimes, we evaluated the optical responses under excitation alone and under simultaneous irradiation with excitation and STED pulses. Consequently, emission enhancement was observed in Ce:LSO, whereas luminescence quenching was confirmed in Tb:LSO, indicating distinct origins for their optical responses.
