Vanadium dioxide (VO2) has attracted attention due to its memory properties, which result from dramatic changes in electrical resistance near room temperature and the presence of resistance hysteresis.Because it exhibits phase transition characteristics induced by photodamage, it is expected to find applications in metasurfaces. However, its high electrical resistance and low photodamage-induced phase transition efficiency have hindered its practical application. Therefore, this study aims to overcome these challenges by reducing the effective resistance through the formation of metal nanostructures while simultaneously improving the absorption rate via the generation of surface plasmons. In this presentation, we will discuss the design and prototyping of metal nanostructures, as well as the evaluation of their effects on reflectance and resistance.
