This closing talk summarizes the symposium and discusses future perspectives on Total Biomimetics from the viewpoint of applied physics. Biomimetics should not be limited to the imitation of biological shapes and functions. Living systems exhibit hierarchical organization, fluctuations, environmental responses, information conversion, adaptation, and emergence of integrated functions. These principles provide important perspectives for materials science, device engineering, sensing, measurement, data analysis, and system design. Through the symposium, we aim to share how Total Biomimetics can serve as a cross-disciplinary framework connecting biological principles with applied physics and future technologies.
