[IL5]Digital health technologies in swallowing care from screening to rehabilitation

Dr. Anaïs Rameau is associate professor and the current chief of dysphagia and directorof new technologies in the Department of Otolaryngology at Weill Cornell Medical College.She has focused her scientific endeavors on the integration of novel technologiesin the diagnosis and treatment of voice and swallowing disorders with the ultimategoal of decreasing cost of care, improving accessibility of specialized health servicesand detecting pathologies early. Much of her current focus is on the developmentof a bedside aspiration acoustic screening tool using artificial neural networks inthe recognition of the “wet” voice, characteristic of patients with severe deglutitivedisorders, funded by the National Institute on Aging prestigious Beeson Award. Sheis also a co-investigator on the Voice data generation project of the Bridge to AIinitiative of the NIH Common Fund. She is leading the development of a silent speechwearable device for patients with limited phonation and is actively researching theapplication of computer vision to automate diagnosis in video-laryngoscopy, a projectfunded by the American Laryngological Association. She is an alumna Young Leader ofthe French American Foundation.
