Austin Stone is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. He is a team physician for the University of Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky University, and the professional soccer teams, the Lexington Sporting Club. Stone's research foci include the development of post-traumatic osteoarthritis following ligament or meniscal injury, preventative treatments for post-traumatic osteoarthritis, cartilage restoration techniques, and the shoulder of the overhead athlete. He earned his BS in Biology at Wake Forest University, MD from the University of Cincinnati, and his PhD from Wake Forest University in Molecular Medicine and Translational Sciences. He completed orthopaedic surgery residency at Wake Forest School of Medicine and his Sports Medicine Fellowship at RUSH University Medical Center.
