進行・終末期にもかかわらずユーモアは必要なのか否か

死をめぐる対話やケアの現場は、しばしば張り詰めた空気とともにあります。しかし、そんな深刻な状況の中にふと現れる「ユーモア」や「笑い」は、患者・家族・医療者の間に意外な“ぬくもり”と“つながり”を生み出します。本講演では、「死」という最も重いテーマに寄り添うなかで、なぜ人は笑うのか、どのような笑いが癒しとなり得るのかを、臨床実践と心理学・文化人類学・哲学などの視点を交えながら探究します。ユーモアが緩和ケアや終末期医療において果たしうる役割を、単なる「場の和らげ」以上の意味で再考し、「不謹慎」と「必要」――その境界を丁寧に読み解くことも目的の一つです。重苦しさだけでは人は“最期”を生ききれない。そのとき、医療者にできることは何か。本講演では、深刻さと笑いが共存するケアの場面を見つめ直すことで、「死にゆく人のそばにいる」という営みの豊かさと難しさに光を当てます。
