Community-Based Mental Health Interventions for Disaster Preparedness and Resilience in Cambodia

Every year the Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology（JSPN）have been accepting applications for the JSPN Fellowship Award, which is presented to early-career mental health professionals from around the world. The purpose of this symposium is for psychiatrists from different countries to discuss about natural disasters and mental health, including due to global climate change. We hope that we will have better ideas on this important topic through the discussion on following 3 items. Q1. What activities have been done in the past to address post-disaster mental health? You can focus on the individual, household, community, and societal levels. Q2. What natural disasters/global climate change-related disasters are most likely to affect mental health in the next 10 years, and what effects will be seen? Q3. What activities should be undertaken to understand and support community strengths, build resilience, and promote positive mental health and well-being as part of disaster preparedness? 日本精神神経学会では、毎年、世界の若手精神医療従事者を対象に、JSPN Fellowship Award を募集しています。このシンポジウムの目的は、各国の精神科医が自然災害とメンタルヘルス（地球規模の気候変動による影響を含む）について議論することです。以下の 3 点に関する議論を通して、この問題に関する対策を向上させるためのより良いアイディアが得られることを期待しています。 Q1. 災害後のメンタルヘルス対策として、過去にどのような活動が行われましたか？個人レベル、家庭レベル、地域レベル、社会レベルで構いません。 Q2. 今後10年間で、メンタルヘルスに最も影響を与えそうな自然災害／気候変動関連災害は何でしょうか？またどのような影響が見られると考えますか？ Q3. 災害への備えの一環として、コミュニティの強みを理解・支援し、レジリエンスを構築し、前向きなメンタルヘルスとウェルビーイングを促進するために、どのような活動が行われるべきでしょうか？
