Measuring fluid properties in a nanogap using precise control of gap and microscopic observation and its potential application to biomembrane research

Biomembranes strongly influence cellular functions. The composition and distribution of biomembrane lipids change dynamically, thus conferring a variety of properties and morphologies on biomembranes. Therefore, it is demanded to synergize a wide range of research fields to understand the biomembrane functions. In this symposium, we will report on the recent development of biomembrane research by various approaches.<br>
