Advancements in Cellular Biology Research Utilizing the Japanese Experiment Module “Kibo” on the International Space Station

It has been about 15 years since life science experiments began on the Japanese experiment module "Kibo" aboard the International Space Station (ISS), which orbits about 400 km above Earth. So far, more than 40 experiments have been conducted to study the effects of microgravity and space radiation with living organisms, including cells. This symposium will present the latest results on the effects on genes, cells and individuals, experimental techniques, and discuss the future of space experiments.<br>
