Macrophages are recognized for their vital role in preventing infections through phagocytosis of pathogens. They also help to control inflammation by clearing dead cells. Recent works reveal that macrophages are involved in diverse physiological events, such as metabolism, tissue repair, organogenesis, and regeneration. The symposium aims to highlight these novel macrophage functions and discuss the latest research findings in these areas.
