The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the threat of viral infections. However, as the WHO and CDC have suggested, COVID-19 is not the last pandemic in human history. Experimental virology" using molecular and cellular biology is essential to prepare for the risks of the "next pandemic". In this symposium we would like to discuss the importance of viral research based on molecular biology, which is necessary to prepare for the "next pandemic".
