[12-08]Flotation of rare earth minerals from a silicate-clay-hematite ore

The flotation of Fe-rich xenotime, monazite-Nd and RE carbonate minerals from ore mainly of silicates, clay and hematite was investigated. RE carbonate and monazite were highly floated by tall oil fatty acid collector at natural pH to11 while xenotime’s floatability was only highly floated at pH10-11. The floatabilities of hematite, clay and silicates were similar to xenotime but at lower recoveries. How to increase the selectivity of xenotime against the gangues will be further investigated.
