[34-01]Particle Tracking Simulations for Dispersion of Solute in Laboratory Scale Porous Media

Recently, the particle tracking methods have become popular for flow study of solute transport in porous media. In this paper, a particle tracking method using stochastic processes is used to simulate a laboratory scale porous media with a pair of sink and source. Two methods to generate velocity vectors in arbitrary spatial position, i.e. the superposition of multiple sink-source and the streamline-based semi analytical method,are discussed. The hydrodynamic dispersions are also evaluated.
