第一原理計算に基づく熱力学分配平衡計算のための手法であるCOSMO-RS（COnductor-like Screening MOdel for Realistic treatment of Solvents）を用いて、Chalcopyrite（CuFeS2）とEnargite（Cu3AsS4）の結晶構造をモデル化し、約1万種の化学物質についてそれぞれの鉱物表面への分配係数を算出した。算出した分配係数の値の比から、いずれかの鉱物への選択性の高い化学物質をピックアップし、構造の特徴を整理した。また、両鉱物の表面構造及び鉱物表面に吸着した浮選剤構造の分析を試みた。
