Arsenic (As) is one of hot-topic contaminations in various wastewaters. The oxidation of arsenite (As(III)) by ferric (Fe(III)) complexes in absence and presence of H₂O₂ was investigated in sulfuric, chloride and nitric acid solutions. In addition, the Fe(III)-As(III) complexes was proved by UV-Vis test and the adverse effects on Fenton-like reaction was inferred in As(III) oxidation experiments. All experimental results were explained according to the theoretical calculations.
