国内非鉄金属製錬業の持続的発展のための研究を目的とし、住友金属鉱山株式会社と東北大学多元物質科学研究所は今年度、共同研究部門を開設した。技術の先進化や国際競争力の強化のための共同研究テーマや次世代の非鉄金属製錬技術者の人材教育を推進する。その背景や活動への期待を述べる。
