パン酵母（野生株）が強酸性溶液中の貴金属イオン（Au(III), Pd(II)）に対する有効な分離剤となることを見出すとともに、各貴金属イオンの回収率に及ぼす各種操作条件の影響を明らかにした。さらに、パン酵母を用いて、両貴金属イオンを相互分離できる操作条件について検討した。
