Oil agglomeration-flotation for finely ground chalcopyrite was investigated using emulsified oil as a bridging liquid, potassium amyl xanthate as a surface modifier. Oil agglomeration increased the particle size and improved flotation kinetic, probability due to the increased in collision efficiency between bubble and particle. The factors affecting oil agglomeration and flotation were discussed based on experimental results and kinetic modeling.
