多田銀銅山は大阪平野中心部から北約 20㎞の中国山地南東の延長部、北摂の山並みに 広がる鉱脈を採掘して銀と銅を生産した鉱山の総称である。兵庫県猪名川町では、豊臣秀吉が直接管理し、江戸時代に代官所が置かれた銀山地区を中心に、採鉱遺跡が分布している。これまで、銀山地区、民田千軒地区をはじめとする採鉱跡の調査成果をもとに、採鉱跡の時代的変遷、鉱床や地質に応じた採鉱法、使用された道具などについて総合的に考察する。
