Nowadays, in order to recycle valuable materials from waste equipment, we must liberate those materials from waste equipment first either by shredding, disassembly or both. And disassembly can achieve a higher degree of liberation in the later recycling process which also means a higher recycling rate. And current methodologies used in disassembly process are all concerning maximizing the profit in the disassembly process without considering optimizing the degree of liberation and minimizing the disassembly cost to achieve that. Thus, this research is going to maximizing the profit in the disassembly process by optimizing the degree of liberation of materials and minimizing the disassembly cost of the disassembly process prior to recycling through building an integer programming model.
