Tamotsu Yoshimori’s biography
Prof. Tamotsu Yoshimori was graduated from Osaka University and received his PhD degree in Medical Science from the University. After working at several places including European Molecular Biology Laboratory and National Institute of Basic Biology (Prof Yoshinori Ohsumi’s lab), he became a professor at Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences / Medicine, Osaka University in 2010. He acted as the dean of Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences, Osaka University in 2018-2022. He is now a professor emeritus of Osaka University and a specially appointed professor in Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University. He is an editor of Journal Cell Science, and on the editorial board of Journal of Cell Biology, and so on. He was a president of Japan Society for Cell Biology in 2016-2018. He was awarded many prizes including Medal with Purple Ribbon in 2019 by Japanese Government and Highly Cited Researchers 6 times by Clarivate Analytics.
