[S-01-5]Autophagy-Lysosomal Pathway Dysfunction in Neurodegenerative Diseases

Dr. Keita Kakuda is an Assistant Professor at Osaka University's Department of Neurology and a neurologist specializing in Parkinson's disease and movement disorders. He earned both his MD (2013) and PhD (2019) from Osaka University, completing his doctoral research under Prof. Hideki Mochizuki. He began his career as a resident and clinical fellow at Higashiosaka City General Hospital, followed by a fellowship in neuro-rehabilitation at Morinomiya Hospital. He later served as Chief Physician at Higashiosaka City General Hospital before assuming his current role in 2021. His research focuses on the propagation mechanisms of α-synuclein aggregates, particularly their interactions with lipids and the role of lysosomal aging in neurodegenerative diseases.
