In recent years, an increasing number of researchers have introduced behavioral experiments using operant learning. However, it remains challenging and inefficient in practice to train animals to learn operantly. This seminar will focus on "shaping" of animals to learn our designed behavior in operant learning experiments. Three active researchers with expertise in operant learning will lecture on the key tips and know-how of operant learing experiments in rodents and primates.
[2LS10-01]Training visual discrimination in mice using touchscreen
*Kazuhiro Goto1 (1. Faculty of Human Society, Sagami Women's University)
[2LS10-02]A behavior paradigm for examining active coping with lack of expected reward and the role of dopamine
*Masaaki Ogawa1 (1. Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University)
[2LS10-03]Forelimb movement tasks for common marmosets using a robotic manipulandum
*Teppei Ebina1 (1. Graduate School of Medicine, The University of Tokyo)
