[MB3-1] Pushing the Limit: Technologies for Ultra-Fast Short-Reach Optical Links

This paper reviews two promising technologies to support ultrahigh-symbol-rate transmission using short-reach intensity modulation and direct detection systems: simplified bandwidth-limitation-tolerant digital signal processing using partial response signaling, as well as analog bandwidth extension using analog multiplexers/demultiplexers.
