We analyze the photoconversion efficiency of thin-film metal-silicon Schottky barrier photodetector (SBPD) arrays under free-space near-infrared illumination, demonstrating enhanced external quantum efficiency in ultrathin metal SBPDs, and validating internal photoemission losses through a theoretical model.
