A cosine-term-based nonlinear DFE (CTDFE) is proposed for IM/DD systems. Compared with diagonally-pruned VDFE, the CTDFE reduces computational complexity by 47% and improves receiver sensitivity by 0.3 dB in a 100-Gb/s PAM-4 60-km transmission system.
