Through AI-assisted deep learning growth, the 9-µm core, 10-cm length, 300-nm broadband single-mode chromium-doped crystalline core fiber (Cr-CCF) achieved a record gain-per-unit length (GPUL) of 104-dB/m, and is expected to reach 120-dB/m after thermal annealing.
