We propose a two-stage equalization algorithm based on extended Kalman filter and adaptive filter (EKF-AF) for equalization-enhanced phase noise mitigation in high-speed coherent systems, achieving up to 0.5-dB optical signal-to-noise ratio improvement over conventional algorithms.
