【市民公開講座のねらい】 ダウン症について，これまで医療，教育，福祉のそれぞれの現場で話題になることはあっても，3領域の方々が共通の場で議論することはありませんでした．乳幼児期の合併症治療には専門的医療を提供できますが，早期療育についての知識も十分ではなく，教育課題をはじめ，まして成人期のダウン症を持つ方がどのような暮らしをしているのか，どのような医療ニーズがあるのか，誰がその医療を担うべきか，など知っていることは限られています．そのため，ダウン症についてライフステージに合わせて分野の違う先生方と1日を通して議論をしていただきます． 【シンポジウムのねらい】 早期療育は単に子どもの発達を促すだけではなく，家族が肌を触れ合うことで，親子の愛着形成が促進されることも想定しています．また，療育現場では筋力や姿勢などの身体的発達の他に，言語・コミュニケーションの発達を促進して，学校生活や社会で活動できる力を伸ばすように，さまざまな取り組みがされています．学校現場で必要な力を想定して幼児期から関わること，成人期に必要なことを想定して幼児期・学童期に関わることを考えてみたいと思います．
